(Isabela City) December 29, 2024 – In a significant step towards community integration and national peacebuilding, former members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) who recently graduated as CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) visited Brigadier General Alvin V. Luzon at Camp Luis Biel II, Brgy. Tabiawan, Isabela City, Basilan.
The courtesy visit highlighted the successful transition of these individuals from former combatants to members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). Brigadier General Luzon, Commander of the 101st Infantry “Three Red Arrows” Brigade, commended their dedication and commitment to embracing their new roles.
During the meeting, Brig. Gen. Luzon emphasized the significance of their responsibilities as Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) members, reminding them of their duty to maintain peace and order. “As new members of the AFP, it is essential to build camaraderie within your units while remaining humble and grounded in your communities. Your efforts will play a crucial role in promoting unity and fostering harmony,” Luzon stated.
To mark the occasion, the newly inducted CAAs were presented with new battle dress uniforms from the Philippine Army. Brig. Gen. Luzon encouraged them to serve as role models, demonstrating discipline and dedication in their assigned areas. He also stressed the importance of aligning their actions with the broader goal of sustaining progress and achieving lasting peace in Basilan and beyond.
