December 9, 2024 – A joint anti-illegal drugs operation conducted in Sitio Touwan, Brgy. Aragon, Cateel, Davao Oriental led to the arrest of the Region’s Top 8 High-Value Individual (HVI), identified as “Michelle.” The operation resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at PHP 476,000.
During the raid, authorities seized evidence including several heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a blue Techno Spark cellphone, a blue plastic bag, 15 pieces of PHP 1,000 bills (one genuine and 14 machine copies), two scratch papers, a black-and-gray Eye Mountaineer backpack, and a RUSI motorcycle. The suspect is now in the custody of the Cateel Municipal Police Station, Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office (DOPPO) for proper disposition and the filing of charges.
PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, Regional Director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 11, commended the coordinated efforts of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 11, Cateel Municipal Police Station, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). “This successful operation highlights the unwavering dedication of PRO 11 in its relentless campaign against illegal drugs,” he stated.
DOPPO Achieves Milestones in Anti-Crime Campaigns
The Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office (DOPPO), under the leadership of Provincial Director PCol Julius E. Silagan and supervision of PBGEN Rosete, has made significant strides in its campaign against illegal drugs and criminality from November to the present.
DOPPO has implemented six successful search warrants, resulting in the arrest of five individuals, primarily for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition).
One notable operation led to the arrest of another HVI, identified as “Mardy,” and the confiscation of suspected shabu worth PHP 1,020,000, drug paraphernalia, firearms of various calibers, ammunition, and firearm magazines.

These achievements underscore the effectiveness of PRO 11’s strategy to maintain peace and order while combating illegal drugs and criminality. PBGEN Rosete urged the public to support the Philippine National Police’s efforts by reporting illegal drug activities and wanted persons to local authorities.
