DUJALI, Davao del Norte – Operatives from the Dujali Municipal Police Station confiscated approximately Php680,000 worth of suspected shabu during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted at the Inmates Visitation Services Unit (IVSU) of the Davao Prison and Penal Farm on December 20, 2024.

The operation was a collaborative effort between personnel from the Bureau of Corrections and the Dujali Municipal Police Station. The suspect, identified as alias “Sally,” a 28-year-old resident of Purok Maguintalunan, Barangay New Visayas, Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte, was apprehended during the operation.

Camp Sgt Quintin M. Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City – The incident unfolded after personnel from the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) stationed at DAPECOL discovered one (1) large sack wrapped in transparent cellophane containing a suspected white crystalline substance, believed to be shabu. The package, concealed with black electrical tape, was retrieved from the right lower portion of a visitor’s pajama during body frisking. The Standard Drug Price (SDP) of the confiscated illegal drugs is estimated at Php680,000.

The arrested suspect is now in the custody of the Braulio E. Dujali Municipal Police Station under the Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO) for proper documentation and the filing of charges.

PBGEN LEON VICTOR Z. ROSETE, Regional Director of PRO 11, commended the prompt response of the Braulio E. Dujali Municipal Police Station, which led to the recovery of the illegal drugs. He also lauded the vigilance and dedication of BuCor personnel in intercepting the contraband, emphasizing that such proactive measures help prevent illegal activities within the penal colony.

Authorities recovered an estimated 100 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect. Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are set to be filed against the individual.

The Police Regional Office 11 continues to intensify its operations against illegal drugs and criminal activities, taking concrete steps to ensure community safety and order. These initiatives not only aim to suppress drug-related offenses but also highlight the unwavering dedication of law enforcement agencies to fulfill their mandate: to protect citizens and uphold societal peace and security.
