Fast Cat Owner Chet Pastrana to Visit Basilan for Port Inspection and Maiden Voyage

Basilan – Fast Cat owner Chet Pastrana is set to visit Basilan on October 10, 2024, to personally inspect the port facilities in preparation for the ferry’s maiden voyage. Pastrana’s visit comes after a recent meeting with Basilan Governor Jim S. Hataman Salliman, where the two long-time friends discussed the upcoming plans aimed at enhancing the province’s maritime transportation.

The introduction of Fast Cat’s ferry service is expected to significantly improve connectivity and boost Basilan’s local economy. Governor Salliman, who shares a close bond with Pastrana—often referring to him as a brother and golf partner—expressed optimism about the initiative. He emphasized the positive impact the new ferry route will have on trade, tourism, and overall accessibility for residents and visitors alike.

Pastrana’s commitment to ensuring a successful launch signals his dedication to the project, which aligns with the province’s vision of improving infrastructure and services. The maiden voyage of Fast Cat is seen as a key step in enhancing Basilan’s transportation network and fostering greater economic opportunities for the region.
