A successful entrapment operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) BARMM Lanao del Sur, in collaboration with the Philippine Army’s 3rd and 7th Scout Rangers Companies and the Tamparan Municipal Police Station, resulted in the arrest of one member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU), on September 3, 2024, in Barangay Talub, Tamparan, Lanao del Sur.
The target, alias “Orak,” a CAFGU residing in Brgy. Kabasaran, Lumbayanague, Lanao del Sur, was arrested in possession of 500 grams of shabu worth PHP 3,400,000.00 and one unit of.45-caliber Colt pistol with a single magazine loaded with four live rounds.
Upon his arrest, Orak was informed of his constitutional rights and his rights under the Anti-Torture Law in a dialect they can fully comprehend. The inventory and markings of the seized evidence were done in the presence of the representatives from the LGU and DOJ.
Following arrest, the target and evidence were transported to the PDEA BARMM Lanao del Sur Office for paperwork, booking, and disposition.
The suspect will be charged for violating R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
