Tagum City recently marked another milestone in its ongoing commitment to sustainable livelihood and environmental conservation as 25 trainees successfully graduated from the free Beekeeping Skills Training Program. The ceremony took place this morning at the City Apiary in Barangay San Agustin, celebrating the achievements of the 12th batch of the program.

The three-month training program is part of the BeeBLESS Program, which stands for Beekeeping, Beesaving Livelihood, and Environment Support System. Spearheaded by the City Agriculture Office (CAGRO), this initiative aims to equip participants with essential beekeeping skills that can serve as a source of income and employment opportunities, both locally and internationally.

Under the leadership of Mayor Rey T. Uy, the Local Government of Tagum continues to invest in livelihood programs that empower residents, particularly those seeking alternative and sustainable means of earning. The BeeBLESS Program not only supports economic growth but also contributes to environmental conservation by promoting bee preservation and responsible beekeeping practices.

For the graduates, the training opens doors to potential employment in large agricultural companies abroad, as well as opportunities to establish their own beekeeping ventures within their communities. With the knowledge and skills gained, these new beekeepers are now equipped to contribute to the growing apiculture industry while helping sustain the local ecosystem.

The success of the program highlights the city’s dedication to providing practical and impactful livelihood programs that uplift its residents. As another batch of skilled beekeepers steps into the field, Tagum City moves closer to its vision of a thriving and environmentally-conscious agricultural sector.
