EL SALVADOR CITY, Misamis Oriental — Police arrested a 44-year-old man after authorities seized an estimated 155 grams of suspected shabu worth approximately ₱1.054 million during the implementation of a search warrant in Zone 1, Barangay Cogon, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental, on Friday, August 21, 2026.

The operation began at around 3:55 p.m. and was carried out by personnel of the El Salvador City Police Station, with assistance from the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company. Authorities were implementing a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 23 in connection with an alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The arrested suspect was identified only as alias “Vic,” 44, reportedly single and working as an online transport service driver. Police said he is a resident of the area where the search was conducted.
During the search of the suspect’s residence, authorities reportedly recovered six large sachets containing white crystalline substances believed to be shabu. The seized substances had a combined estimated weight of 155 grams and a reported Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱1.054 million.
Aside from the suspected illegal drugs, police also recovered several items allegedly associated with the possession or use of illegal substances. These included five disposable lighters, three large pieces of aluminum foil, one roll of aluminum foil, one black belt bag, and five empty transparent cellophane sachets.
The suspect and all recovered items were brought to the El Salvador City Police Station for proper documentation, inventory and disposition in accordance with established procedures.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing as authorities prepare the appropriate charges against the suspect. The seized substances are expected to undergo the required examination and processing as part of the case.
The arrest forms part of continuing law enforcement efforts against the illegal drug trade in Misamis Oriental. Authorities, however, have yet to disclose further details regarding the suspected source or intended distribution of the seized substance.
As with other drug cases, the suspect remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The allegations and seized substances will be subject to the required legal and forensic processes.
