BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi — Police Regional Office–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) Regional Director PBGEN Christopher M. Abecia conducted a comprehensive command visit to various police units in Tawi-Tawi on July 3, reinforcing the Philippine National Police’s commitment to operational excellence, accountability, and professional public service.

The command visit, held at Camp Alejandro Suarez in Bongao, included inspections, personnel engagements, and the presentation of firearms under the Custody, Control, Security, Disposition, Accounting, and Flowchart (CCSDAF) system, highlighting the region’s continued efforts to strengthen transparency and proper management of government property.
One of the major activities during the visit was the showcasing of firearms under the CCSDAF program led by PLTCOL Alexander M. Butuan, Force Commander of the Tawi-Tawi Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).
During the presentation, the Regional Director inspected various confiscated, captured, surrendered, deposited, abandoned, and forfeited short and long firearms currently under the custody of the Tawi-Tawi PMFC. The activity demonstrated the unit’s strict compliance with established PNP guidelines governing the custody, documentation, accounting, security, and lawful disposition of firearms.
Police officials said the presentation reflected the unit’s commitment to ensuring that all recovered firearms are properly secured and documented while maintaining transparency and accountability in accordance with existing PNP policies.
The firearms inspection also underscored the importance of effective evidence management and responsible stewardship of government assets as part of the organization’s campaign to strengthen operational standards across the Bangsamoro region.
Aside from inspecting the CCSDAF inventory, PBGEN Abecia also conducted separate “Talk to Men” sessions with personnel of the Tawi-Tawi Police Provincial Office (TTPPO), Regional Mobile Force Battalion 14-B, the Special Action Force (SAF), and the Bongao Municipal Police Station.
The engagements formed part of the Regional Director’s continuing command visits aimed at assessing the operational readiness, administrative compliance, organizational performance, and overall welfare of police personnel assigned throughout the province.
In his address, PBGEN Abecia reminded police officers to remain steadfast in performing their duties with integrity, professionalism, and discipline despite the challenges of law enforcement.
He emphasized that professionalism, respect, courtesy, and discipline remain the cornerstones of effective policing and are essential in maintaining the trust and confidence of the communities they serve.
Reiterating his leadership mantra, “Sa tuwina, piliin nating maging mabuting tao,” the Regional Director encouraged every member of the police force to consistently embody the values of Disiplina, Kortesiya, at Respeto in every operation and in every interaction with the public.
According to Abecia, adherence to these core values not only strengthens the integrity of the Philippine National Police but also promotes a culture of accountability, ethical leadership, and people-centered policing.
The command visit likewise provided an avenue for open dialogue between the Regional Director and police personnel, allowing officers to raise concerns, discuss operational challenges, and receive updates on organizational priorities.
Abecia also took the opportunity to recognize the dedication, sacrifices, and commitment of the men and women serving in Tawi-Tawi, assuring them of the organization’s continued support for their welfare, professional development, and career growth.
The series of activities concluded with renewed commitments from police commanders and personnel to uphold the highest standards of law enforcement while ensuring transparency in firearms management, operational preparedness, and responsive public service throughout the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.
