Mawab, Davao de Oro — Authorities arrested a 28-year-old laborer, identified only as alias “Loloy,” during a joint operation by the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office and the Mawab Municipal Police Station on June 24, 2025.

The police served two search warrants for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, at the suspect’s residence in Barangay Malinawon.

The operation, conducted in the presence of barangay officials and representatives from the Department of Justice, resulted in the confiscation of several items, including:

  • Small sachets containing traces of suspected shabu,
  • A glass tube toother,
  • A plastic container,
  • A black and gray sling bag, and
  • A caliber .38 revolver without a serial number.

Alias “Loloy” is currently detained at the Mawab Police Station pending further investigation and proper disposition of the confiscated items.

The Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office reiterated its commitment to combating illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms in the province. Authorities also called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities.
