KADINGILAN, Bukidnon — Authorities seized more than ₱1.1 million worth of smuggled cigarettes during a checkpoint operation in Barangay Bagor, Kadingilan, Bukidnon on Tuesday morning, December 16, 2025, as part of intensified efforts against illegal activities.
Police flagged down a black Nissan Lavina SUV bearing plate number LAR 5602 at around 11:10 a.m. The vehicle was driven by a 31-year-old man who was caught in the act while authorities inspected several cartons containing smuggled cigarettes. Initial examination showed that the products lacked the required government-mandated graphic health warnings, a clear violation of existing laws and regulations.
Confiscated from the suspect’s possession and control were 28 cases—each containing 50 reams—of Seven Kings brand cigarettes with red filters, and an additional 33 reams of Seven Kings cigarettes with white filters. All seized items were found to be without the prescribed Government Health Warning labels.
The total estimated value of the confiscated cigarettes amounted to ₱1,146,400.
Authorities said the suspect and the seized smuggled cigarettes were turned over to the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Kadingilan, Bukidnon for proper disposition and further action in accordance with the law.
Law enforcement officials reiterated their commitment to sustain checkpoint operations to curb smuggling and other illegal activities, warning that violators will be dealt with to the full extent of the law.
