Marawi City – Law enforcement authorities successfully seized illegal drugs worth over PHP 900,000 and arrested three high-value individuals in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Proper Sugod, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
The operation, which took place at around 2:00 AM on February 21, 2025, was carried out by personnel from the Marawi City Police Station (MCPS), the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), and the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC). The joint effort led to the apprehension of three suspects, all residents of the area.
According to police reports, the operation resulted in the confiscation of approximately 141 grams of shabu, with a total estimated street value of PHP 952,200. Authorities recovered one knot-tied transparent plastic sachet containing around 100 grams of shabu, valued at PHP 680,000, along with five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing an additional 41 grams, worth PHP 272,200. A black zip pouch and marked buy-bust money were also seized from the suspects.
PCOL Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, commended the operatives for their successful law enforcement operation. He emphasized that this operation is part of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the region.
The arrested suspects, along with the confiscated evidence, were brought to the Marawi City Police Station for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges.
