The operation, conducted at around 3:00 AM in Barangay Mangelen, President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat, targeted a couple identified only as Alias Virgilio and Alias Jenifer. Authorities revealed that the duo had been involved in the illegal drug trade since 2023.
During the raid, law enforcement officers seized 12 sachets containing approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu, nine vials of brown liquid believed to be marijuana oil, and three hand grenades.
Cases for violation of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 9516, which pertains to illegal possession of explosives, will be filed against the suspects.
However, both suspects remain at large as of press time, and authorities have launched a follow-up operation to track them down. Law enforcement agencies urge the public to report any information that could lead to their arrest.
The operation is part of the government’s intensified efforts to curb illegal drug activities in the region. Authorities assured that similar operations would continue in line with their commitment to eliminating drug-related crimes in Sultan Kudarat and nearby provinces.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the couple’s drug network and possible connections to larger criminal organizations.
