The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the city through its resolute efforts to combat criminal activities. Under the leadership of Acting City Director Police Colonel Hansel M. Marantan, the DCPO achieved remarkable milestones in November 2024, arresting 436 individuals in a single month and filing numerous cases in court.

With the active support of the community, Barangay Officials, and the Local Government Unit, the DCPO conducted 140 anti-illegal drug operations that led to the apprehension of 179 drug personalities. These operations resulted in the confiscation of 784.4357 grams of shabu valued at approximately Php 5,334,162.76 and 5,683.21 grams of marijuana worth Php 681,985.20. A total of 225 drug-related cases were filed in court, emphasizing the police force’s unrelenting war against illegal drugs.

Efforts to curb illegal gambling also showed significant results. Seventeen operations led to the arrest of 36 gamblers and the confiscation of Php 12,755.00 in bet money. These actions culminated in the filing of 17 cases in court.

In its mission to bring fugitives to justice, the DCPO conducted 203 operations against wanted individuals, successfully apprehending 203 persons, including 51 classified as most wanted. The operations against loose firearms were equally effective, with 44 operations yielding 18 arrests and 18 cases filed in court.

PCOL Marantan highlighted the importance of collaboration in achieving these results, stating, “The DCPO’s success is a testament to the collective effort of the police force, local authorities, and the community. Together, we aim to sustain these accomplishments and ensure that Davao City remains a safe place for everyone.”

The DCPO’s achievements underscore its unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and order in the city, setting a high standard for public safety and crime prevention in the region.
