Authorities intensified the government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign after police operatives arrested several high-value individuals and seized more than ₱2.6 million worth of suspected shabu during an operation on February 28, 2026, in Barangay Poblacion, Saguiaran.

The operation was carried out by the Police Regional Office–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) as part of the ongoing campaign of the Philippine National Police against illegal drugs. Regional Director Jaysen C. De Guzman said the operation led to the arrest of four suspects identified only by their aliases “Fahad,” “Usman,” “Jamal,” and “Nani,” all of legal age.
Authorities reported that the suspects were found in possession of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱2,638,400. The confiscation marked a significant accomplishment for law enforcement units operating in Lanao del Sur, a province that has been included in intensified anti-drug operations in recent years.
The seized illegal drugs, along with other pieces of evidence, have been turned over to the Saguiaran Municipal Police Station. The suspects are now under police custody while authorities conduct proper documentation and prepare the filing of appropriate charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Police said the successful operation was the result of coordinated efforts among multiple law enforcement units, including the Drug Enforcement Unit, RMFB14-A, PDEG BAR, the Regional Intelligence Unit, and the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office. The collaboration among these units allowed authorities to monitor and eventually intercept the suspects, whom police described as high-value targets in the region’s illegal drug network.
De Guzman commended the operating teams for what he described as a significant blow to illegal drug activities in the area. He emphasized that the campaign against narcotics remains a top priority for the regional police force.
At the same time, the regional police chief called on communities to remain vigilant and to continue cooperating with authorities by reporting suspicious activities related to illegal drugs and other forms of criminality.
Law enforcement officials said operations like this will continue across the Bangsamoro region as part of broader efforts to dismantle drug distribution networks and maintain peace and order in vulnerable communities.
