OPOL, Misamis Oriental — Police arrested two siblings and confiscated nearly ₱680,000 worth of suspected shabu during a joint anti-drug operation in Barangay Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental on Thursday afternoon, January 8, 2026.

The suspects were identified as Dodetha “Odet” [surname withheld], 43, single, a resident of Zone 10, Vamenta Subdivision, and her younger brother Jun [surname withheld], 29, of Zone 5, Barangay Barra. Both were tagged as High Value Individuals (HVI), with Odet listed as a Regional Priority Target (SLI).

The buy-bust operation was carried out at around 2:29 p.m. in Zone 10, Vamenta Subdivision by operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 10 as the lead unit, in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Division (RID), Regional Intelligence Unit 10 (RIU-10), PDEG Special Operations Unit 10, and Opol Municipal Police Station (MPS).

Police said authorities had been tracking Odet for nearly a month before finally closing in on her during the operation.

Seized from the suspects were:

  • One small rectangular sachet of suspected shabu worth ₱1,000 used as the buy-bust item
  • Five assorted sizes of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu
  • Buy-bust money amounting to ₱1,000
  • A total of approximately 100 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price (SDP) of ₱680,000

The suspects reportedly offered no comment upon arrest.

Both Odet and Jun are now detained at the Maharlika Detention Cell while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared and will be filed against them.

Police said the successful operation is part of intensified efforts to dismantle illegal drug networks in Misamis Oriental and the entire Northern Mindanao region.
