The suspect, identified by police as alias “Loloy Maranao,” 23, married, and a resident of Barangay Nazareth, was apprehended at MB Ramonal following a successful undercover operation. Authorities said the suspect works as a parking attendant and was previously detained in connection with a robbery case, marking his first recorded drug-related offense.

Recovered from the suspect were 10 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu of various sizes, weighing approximately 100 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱680,000. Also seized were a sling bag, assorted cellophanes, and a marked ₱1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.

Police said the suspect is currently detained at the Maharlika Detention Facility for proper disposition. The confiscated illegal drugs have been turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 (RFU-10) for qualitative and quantitative examination.

Authorities confirmed that charges for violation of Sections 5 (illegal sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (illegal possession of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspect.

The operation is part of intensified anti-illegal drug efforts in Cagayan de Oro City, as law enforcement agencies continue to target high-value individuals to curb the proliferation of narcotics in Northern Mindanao.
