PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte (November 12, 2025) — Authorities arrested the Top 2 Regional Drug Personality and seized ₱2.4 million worth of suspected shabu and a firearm in a successful anti-drug operation conducted in Purok Dacudao Extension, Barangay JP Laurel, Panabo City.

The suspect, identified as alias “Anu”, 53 years old, married, and a truck helper from Purok 9, Barangay Tibal-og, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte, is classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI) and Regional Level Target in the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.

According to a report from the Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO) led by PCOL Glenn G. Cristines, the buy-bust operation was jointly carried out by the Panabo City Police Station, 2nd Davao Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (DNPMFC), Davao Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit (DNPIU), PITDDN-RIU 11, RSOG 11, and PDEA Davao del Norte.

Recovered from the suspect were 355 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱2,414,000, a caliber .38 revolver loaded with ammunition, the buy-bust money, and a Yamaha XTZ 125 motorcycle believed to have been used in the transaction.

The suspect is now detained at the Panabo City Police Station and faces charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

PCOL Cristines lauded the operating units for their “exemplary coordination and commitment,” saying the successful operation demonstrates the unyielding resolve of law enforcement in Davao del Norte to eradicate illegal drugs and criminality.

“This operation is a testament to our relentless efforts to keep our communities safe. I commend the dedication and teamwork of our men and women in uniform, especially the Panabo City Police under PLTCOL Dexter R. Cuevas,” Cristines said.

He also urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperative in the continuing fight against illegal drugs.

“We call on our communities to stay alert and supportive. Together, we can protect our families and future generations from the scourge of illegal drugs,” Cristines added.

The seized drugs and firearm are now under police custody as authorities prepare the necessary charges against the suspect.
