General Santos City – A 61-year-old security guard died after being punched by a man during a commotion inside a hotel and bar located in Employees Village, Barangay Fatima, General Santos City, early morning of Friday, November 7, 2025.
Police identified the victim as Alando Gealogo, a resident of Purok 13-B, Barangay Fatima. Initial investigation from Police Station 7 revealed that Gealogo, who was on duty at the establishment, responded to a heated altercation involving three customers who were reportedly drinking inside the bar area.
According to police, the victim tried to pacify the group and guide them outside the premises when one of the men, identified only as alias “Joven,” 32, suddenly punched Gealogo, hitting him directly in the head. The blow caused the victim to fall and strike his head hard on the concrete floor.
Responding officers and concerned citizens immediately brought the unconscious guard to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival due to severe head injuries.
Witnesses told investigators that the suspect fled the scene moments after the attack. Authorities believe that the victim’s head may have struck a hard object upon falling, leading to fatal trauma.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family is calling for justice, urging authorities to hasten the arrest and prosecution of the suspect responsible for Gealogo’s death.
