ZAMBOANGA CITY — Authorities arrested a high-value target and confiscated an estimated ₱13.6 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 9 (PDEA RO9) in Barangay Talisayan, Zamboanga City, on November 8, 2025.
The suspect, identified as alias “Gamar,” 41, a tricycle driver and resident of Isabela City, Basilan, was apprehended after attempting to sell around two kilograms of suspected shabu to an undercover agent.
According to PDEA RO9, the successful anti-drug operation was jointly carried out by operatives from the PDEA RO9 Isabela City Office, PDEA RO9 Zamboanga City Office, PDEA RO9 Seaport Interdiction Unit–Zamboanga City, and the Philippine National Police Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 (PNP RMFB9).
Seized from the suspect were two packs of suspected shabu, a caliber .40 pistol, boodle money used in the operation, and various drug paraphernalia.
The suspect is now in PDEA custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities lauded the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies in dismantling drug networks operating across Zamboanga Peninsula and nearby provinces, reaffirming their commitment to curb the illegal drug trade in the region.
