CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The 10th Forward Service Support Unit (FSSU) of the Philippine Army is in mourning following the untimely death of one of its members, Sgt. Jimerey “Jimboy” Espra Bacodio, who was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Barangay Bayanga, Cagayan de Oro City, on the evening of November 7, 2025.

According to initial reports, Sgt. Bacodio was fatally struck by two unidentified vehicles along the Bayanga National Highway at around 7:15 p.m. The drivers reportedly fled the scene, leaving the soldier lifeless by the roadside.

In a statement, the 10th FSSU expressed its deep sorrow and called for justice for their fallen comrade.

“His dedication, loyalty, and service to the Philippine Army will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of serving alongside him,” the unit said. “He was more than a comrade — he was a friend, a brother, and a valued member of this unit. We earnestly appeal to those who were around the area when the incident occurred to come forward and provide any information that could help identify those responsible.”

Bacodio’s family likewise made a heartfelt appeal for witnesses to share any leads that could shed light on the case. In a social media post, they described him as “full of life, laughter, and dreams — a kind soul who didn’t deserve to leave this world this way.”

“Our hearts are shattered beyond words. The pain of losing him so suddenly, without answers, is something our family will carry forever,” they said. “If anyone witnessed the accident or has any information about the vehicle or person responsible, please, we beg you — come forward. Even the smallest detail could bring justice for Jimboy.”

Authorities are currently investigating the incident. The Bacodio family and the Philippine Army are urging anyone with relevant information to reach out to local police or contact the 10th FSSU directly.

As the investigation continues, the Army community and Bacodio’s loved ones remain united in grief — and in their resolve to seek justice for a soldier who served his country with honor.

May Sgt. Jimerey “Jimboy” Espra Bacodio rest in peace, and may those responsible for his death be brought to justice.
