CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – In a strong blow against the illegal drug trade, the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 (RPDEU 10), in coordination with other law enforcement units, apprehended three suspects and confiscated over ₱1.5 million worth of shabu in two separate buy-bust operations on November 5, 2025.

The first operation, conducted at around 6:17 p.m. in Barangay Bugo, led to the arrest of two suspects known as alias “Dodong,” 50, and alias “Wali,” 50, both residents of the area. According to police, the suspects resisted arrest but were subdued by the operating team.

Recovered from their possession were seven sachets containing around 150 grams of shabu, valued at approximately ₱1,020,000, along with a black sling bag, a mobile phone, and a ₱1,000 bill used as marked money.

Later that evening, at around 9:55 p.m., another buy-bust operation in Barangay Camaman-an resulted in the arrest of alias “Ken-Ken,” 28, single, and jobless. Seized from him were eight sachets containing 75 grams of shabu, estimated at ₱510,000, along with a marked ₱1,000 bill and various drug paraphernalia.

Police reports revealed that “Ken-Ken” had been actively engaged in the illegal drug trade, which served as his main source of income.

The arrested individuals are now detained at the Maharlika Detention Cell under the custody of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office. Charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against “Dodong” and “Ken-Ken,” while “Wali” will face charges under Section 5 of the same law.

The confiscated drugs were turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for laboratory examination.

Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano, Acting Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10, lauded the operatives for their successful operations, reaffirming the region’s firm stance against narcotics.

“PRO 10 remains steadfast in our mission to protect our communities and hold accountable those who continue to engage in the illegal drug trade,” Abrahano stated.
