DAVAO DE ORO — Police authorities in Davao Region scored a major breakthrough in their anti-drug campaign with the arrest of alias “Boss,” the Region’s Top 9 High-Value Individual, during the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Poblacion, Compostela, on August 14, 2025.

The joint law enforcement operation was spearheaded by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit XI (RPDEU XI) and the Compostela Municipal Police Station, with crucial support from the Regional Intelligence Division, the Provincial Intelligence Unit – Davao de Oro, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit – DDOPPO, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Armed with a search warrant issued by Hon. Carmel Gil Grado, Executive Judge of RTC Branch 56, police raided the suspect’s residence in Purok 12, recovering five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of ₱102,000. Also seized were a transparent plastic container, improvised tooters with drug residue, a kitchen scale, and other drug paraphernalia.

All confiscated items were properly marked, inventoried, and documented on-site in the presence of the suspect and insulating witnesses to ensure compliance with legal procedures. The suspect, who has a standing search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is now under the custody of the Compostela Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

Police Regional Office XI Regional Director PBGEN Joseph R. Arguelles lauded the operating units for their diligence and coordination, stressing the PNP’s unwavering commitment to dismantle drug networks in the region.

“This arrest sends a strong message to those involved in the illegal drug trade that the PNP, under the leadership of PGEN Nicolas D. Torre III, will continue its relentless operations to protect our communities from the scourge of illegal drugs,” PBGEN Arguelles declared.

Authorities vowed to sustain intensified anti-drug operations to bring more high-value drug personalities to justice in Davao de Oro and across the Davao Region.
