KORONADAL CITY – A retired government employee was killed while his wife was injured after they were shot by two unidentified assailants while inside their vehicle on Wednesday morning, August 13, in Barangay Zone 2, Koronadal City.
The fatality was identified as Engr. Kesse Junsan, 64, while the wounded victim was his wife, Maria Lourdes Miguel Junsan, 60. Both were residents of Purok Everlasting, Dona Soledad, Barangay Zone 2.
Initial police investigation revealed that the couple was attacked by two suspects riding a Bajaj Kawasaki motorcycle, who approached their vehicle and opened fire. Witnesses said the assailants, both wearing helmets, quickly fled toward an undetermined direction after the shooting.
Emergency responders rushed the victims to a nearby hospital, but Engr. Junsan was declared dead on arrival. His wife remains confined and is undergoing treatment for gunshot wounds.
Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to establish the suspects’ identities and determine the motive behind the attack. A hot pursuit operation has been launched, and police are appealing to anyone with relevant information to come forward. Investigators are also checking for possible CCTV footage in the area that may aid in identifying the perpetrators.
