GLAN, Sarangani Province – Police arrested a 43-year-old public school teacher in an early morning buy-bust operation in Barangay Glan Padidu, Glan, Sarangani Province, resulting in the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at ₱22,200.
Glan Municipal Police Station Chief PLTCOL Jovenson B. Bayona identified the suspect only by his aliases “Dodz” and “Joseph,” a married resident of Purok Sta. Rita, Barangay Glan Padidu, and a teacher at an integrated school in Barangay Datal Bukay.
The joint operation, conducted at around 3:28 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, was carried out by Glan MPS in coordination with the Sarangani Provincial Intelligence Unit/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PIU/PDEU), 1st PMFC, SPPO, RID-12, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 12 (PDEA-12). An undercover officer acted as a poseur-buyer and purchased ₱1,000 worth of suspected shabu from the suspect, leading to his immediate arrest.
Confiscated from the suspect were approximately 3.266 grams of suspected shabu, along with the marked buy-bust money. Authorities said the suspect will face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The arrested teacher is now in police custody for proper disposition.
