Jolo, Sulu – July 25, 2025 — In line with the intensified anti-drug campaign of the Police Regional Office–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR), a suspected drug pusher was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Jolo Municipal Police Station (MPS) on the evening of July 25 in Barangay Asturias, Jolo, Sulu.
The suspect, known by the alias “Aldin,” was identified as a Street-Level Individual (SLI) and is of legal age. He was apprehended on-site after selling what is believed to be shabu to an undercover operative. Authorities seized an estimated PhP 29,250 worth of the suspected illegal drug.
According to police, the operation was carefully planned and executed by the Jolo MPS, with proper inventory and documentation of the seized evidence conducted in the presence of barangay officials and members of the media, ensuring transparency and compliance with legal procedures.
The suspect and the confiscated items are currently under the custody of Jolo MPS as formal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared.
PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO-BAR, lauded the efforts of the Jolo police, emphasizing the unit’s unwavering dedication to the fight against illegal drugs and its commitment to uphold peace and order in the region.
“This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication of our personnel and their resolve to rid our communities of the drug menace while upholding the rule of law,” De Guzman stated.
