RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Zamboanga del Sur — A joint police operation led to the arrest of a high-value drug personality and the confiscation of ₱544,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Campo IV on the morning of July 15, 2025.
The buy-bust operation was conducted by the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, 902nd Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9, 1st Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Ramon Magsaysay Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 9.
Authorities identified the suspect as a 40-year-old male resident of Purok 1, Barangay Baroy-Dako, Baroy, Lanao del Norte. He was apprehended in Purok Mangga, Barangay Campo IV, while allegedly in possession of approximately 80 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱544,000.
The confiscated illegal drugs have been forwarded to the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Forensic Unit at Camp Abelon in Pagadian City for examination. Meanwhile, the suspect remains in the custody of the Ramon Magsaysay Municipal Police Station pending the filing of appropriate charges.
Police Regional Office 9 (PRO 9) hailed the arrest as a significant breakthrough in the region’s ongoing campaign against illegal drugs. The operation aligns with the directive of PNP Chief, Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, under the Core Pillar of Swift and Responsive Public Service.
“PRO 9 remains unwavering in its commitment to dismantling drug syndicates and removing street-level pushers who threaten the safety and well-being of our communities,” the regional command stated.
