CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) led to the arrest of a drug suspect and the confiscation of approximately 40 grams of shabu valued at ₱272,000 on March 6, 2025, in Barangay Balulang, Cagayan de Oro City.
The operation was spearheaded by Team 2 of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 (RPDEU 10) in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office X (PDEA RO-X) Regional Special Enforcement Team. The suspect, identified as Alias Bapa, 20 years old and a resident of Barangay Balulang, was taken into custody.
Authorities stated that the suspect will be charged for violating Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The confiscated illegal substances will be used as evidence in the case.
The PNP, in coordination with PDEA RO-X, continues to intensify its anti-drug campaigns in an effort to dismantle the illegal drug trade and protect communities in Northern Mindanao from the harmful effects of narcotics. Law enforcement agencies have reiterated their commitment to pursuing individuals involved in drug-related activities and ensuring that justice is served.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the suspect’s possible connections to larger drug networks operating in the region. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in the city.
