Zamboanga City – In a significant breakthrough in the fight against illegal drugs, the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Zamboanga City Police Office, in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Unit 9 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 9, successfully seized ₱340,000 worth of illegal drugs and arrested a high-value individual (HVI) during a joint operation on February 14, 2025.
The anti-drug operation took place at 11:05 PM in Purok 9, Barangay Tugbungan, leading to the confiscation of approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu. Law enforcement officials also seized a grey Honda Click 150 motorcycle, which was allegedly used for illicit drug transactions.
Following standard procedures, the confiscated drug evidence has been handed over to the Zamboanga City Forensic Unit 9 for further examination. Meanwhile, the suspect remains in the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 6, where legal proceedings are currently underway.
Police Regional Office 9 (PRO 9) has reiterated its steadfast commitment to eliminating illegal drug activities in the region. Through strengthened partnerships with law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders, PRO 9 continues to heighten its anti-drug operations, emphasizing that illegal drug networks will not be tolerated in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
