The Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) expressed gratitude to the Bangsamoro Parliament for approving an additional ₱72.93 million to its proposed budget for 2025. Initially set at ₱373.85 million, the revised allocation now stands at ₱446.8 million.
This decision was made during the budget deliberation on November 14, led by Member of Parliament Mary Ann M. Arnado. The increase acknowledges MOLE’s effective utilization of its current budget, which reached 82.91% this year—a commendable rate that highlights the ministry’s efficiency.
The additional funding is expected to strengthen MOLE’s key programs, including Employment Facilitation, Workers’ Welfare, and Wage Development, aimed at addressing pressing challenges in the region’s labor sector.
Labor Minister Muslimin G. Sema emphasized the critical role of workers in driving economic development, urging stakeholders to support the enhanced budget. “Together, let us not fail our formal and informal workers,” he stated.
The approved budget reflects the Bangsamoro Government’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of its people and tackling issues such as unemployment and income inequality. With the increased funding, MOLE aims to expand its initiatives and further uplift the labor sector across the autonomous region in 2025.
