October 24, 2024 | Cagayan de Oro City – The Bureau of Customs, in collaboration with the Marine Police and the Puntod Police Station, successfully seized a large shipment of smuggled cigarettes at the Port of Macabalan in the city.
The container truck, which arrived at the port on October 22, was carrying an estimated ₱2.5 million worth of illegal cigarettes. Currently, the 10-foot container truck loaded with the smuggled goods is under the custody of the Bureau of Customs for further investigation and processing.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into this smuggling case to identify those responsible and prevent future occurrences. The Bureau of Customs remains committed to enforcing regulations and protecting legitimate businesses while working to combat illegal trade in the region.
