₱156,500 Worth of Illegal Drugs Seized as Police Intensify Crackdown on Drug Trade in Davao de Oro

Davao de Oro (October 18, 2024) – In a major blow to the illegal drug trade, law enforcement in Davao de Oro seized a total of ₱156,500 worth of suspected shabu during two successful operations on October 17, 2024. The efforts highlight the police’s continued commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in the province.

In Pantukan, a buy-bust operation led by the Pantukan Municipal Police Station resulted in the arrest of two high-value targets, identified only as Alias Marj and Alias Tisoy. The suspects, both residents of Pantukan, were caught in possession of multiple packets of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 22.10 grams and valued at ₱154,000. Drug paraphernalia was also found in their possession.

The evidence was meticulously inventoried in the presence of witnesses and the suspects, ensuring compliance with proper procedures. Both individuals are now facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for drug sale and possession.

In a separate operation, the Montevista Municipal Police Station seized ₱2,500 worth of shabu, along with an unregistered firearm. This operation further demonstrates the concerted efforts by local police to combat illegal drugs and protect the community from the dangers associated with drug trafficking.

These coordinated operations underscore the Davao de Oro police’s dedication to maintaining peace and order in the province.
